Why Hunger Strike /
"I don't mind stealing bread from the mouths of the decadent." This means that the if I had the chance to steal from the rich I would. Like Robin Hood, but I believe in karma so I don't steal. If my cup is overfilled- which I believe this is true of my life, then as karma says I must fill someone's cup up? I am not wealthy, I have worked since I was 14- had some kind of job. My parents worked. My dad worked physically hard to provide for my family so I don't feel like a richy. I have been blessed with parents and grandparents who believed in adventure & hard work, so I feel like my cup is running over- and I need to repay my gifts so to speak. This song is one of my favorites -yes old- 1990's but good-eh? The other songs refer to wastelands- British school system where everything sucks(Pink Floyd). Bad- is about drug addiction- and getting out of it- or just being "WIDE AWAKE"- which I think Winston Smith was always trying to awake within the dystopia that was eating him alive!!! Tell me what you think or suggest songs that talk about problems with society, humans or whatever. Try to focus on 1984ish themes.
